Soap Bar Mummies

Confused? Baleful? Alert? As Family Sponge‘s Jen H. knows, it’s amazing how many emotions some googly eyes can convey…

These cute little mummies are the perfect craft for preschoolers. It’s simple and my kids loved adding the googly eyes. If you pick a scented soap, you can actually have your home smell extra yummy too!

What You’ll Need

  • bar of white soap
  • cheesecloth
  • googly eyes
  • tacky glue

Wrap a bar of soap with cheesecloth multiple times.

Put a few drops of tacky glue on the back of the googly eyes and glue the eyes onto the fabric.

Adjust the fabric to cover the eyes slightly, and glue the end of the fabric with tacky glue to keep it from unraveling. Our son squeezed the soap ghost while the glue dried to make sure it was secure.

We had a blast making an entire mummy family! (To make two wee mummies, have a grownup assistant cut one bar of soap in half.)
