How we did it:
- dipping sauce
Make a batch of dough using your favorite bread recipe or thaw out frozen dough from the store. I bought the breadsticks that are already seasoned and ready to arrange and bake. This saved me time and it was the perfect consistency to form into letters.
Split your dough into sections.
Form letters on the baking sheet. They wanted to make the letters of their names first.
She had a hard time trying to figure out how to arrange the dough pieces to form letters so we worked together.
I let them create anything they wanted to out of their last piece of dough. My daughter did a ladybug and my son did a snake.
Tip: Because you are cutting and arranging the dough, bake the bread for a shorter amount of time than your recipe calls for. I left ours in a few minutes too long. Sprinkle with cheese (optional) and dip into marinara sauce. What a great way to sneak in a little learning while making a tasty snack!
