Build a Bear Cave

How we did it:
Materials List
- small box
- brown paper lunch bag
- tape
-
Tape down the wide flap of the box, leaving the other flap free. This is going to be the base of your cave.
-
Start tearing the paper bag into smaller pieces. If you're like my son, don't forget to act like the Hulk while tearing the bag into smaller bits and pieces!
-
Crumple up the torn pieces to give them extra texture. This is a great way to work on fine motor skills.
-
Start taping the paper down.
-
Slowly cover the box with tape. My son and I got into a nice routine: I'd cut small strips for him, and he'd happily tape and crumple to his heart's content while "Snow Doggy" tried out his new home.
-
For the front, we stapled the paper on because the staples would be less visible than the tape we were using.
-
My son then trimmed down loose bits of paper.
-
Start playing with your new bear cave. (Or in our case, wolf cave.)My son already made a request for us to build another cave, so that will be a project for another day...
