Contact Paper Jellyfish

Contact Paper Jellyfish

We have been reading a lot about the ocean since it is summer and my daughter loves jellyfish! So, I came up with this craft for her so she could make her own!

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. contact paper
  2. scissors
  3. pen
  4. collage materials
  5. ribbon
  1. I started out by cutting a jellyfish shape for my daughter out of clear contact paper. Older kiddos can try this step for themselves!

  2. Then, I peeled off the backing and placed the jellyfish sticky side up. I told my daughter we were going to do a collage on the jellyfish's body so she grabbed our "collage bag" and set to work! We keep a collage bag that has leftover scraps of paper, tissue, feathers, and so on. :)

  3. My daughter had fun sticking various objects onto the contact paper. While she worked, I told her about the time Daddy got stung by a jellyfish... twice! Ouch!

  4. When she was happy with her collage, I told her it was time to add the tentacles. We used some crinkle cut ribbon that we had but regular wrapping paper ribbon would work well too!

  5. Have fun making your jellyfish and swimming in the ocean this summer!
