Crafty Christmas Elf

My parents still have the Christmas crafts I made when I was a kid...and now that I'm a mom, I proudly carry on that tradition! One of my sons made this cute-as-can-be elf last weekend, and this jingly bauble will definitely deck our halls each holiday season. If you're looking for a stocking stuffer or party activity for the kids' table, consider creating this festive little elf.
How we did it:
Materials List
- wooden beads - with a face drawn on
- wooden beads
- pipe cleaners
- felt
- jingle bells
- ribbon
- glue
- scissors
-
To make the elf hat, cut a semicircle of felt that's 1.5" in diameter. Wrap the felt to create a cone, leaving a small space at the tip of the hat, and glue the edge.

-
To make the scarf, cut a 1/2" by 4" strip of felt and fringe the ends. Cut a small slit about 3/4 of the way from the end of the scarf.
-
Bend one pipe cleaner in half and thread a large plain bead (for the body), face bead, felt hat, and small jingle bell about halfway down. )
-
Next, thread small beads onto each leg and bend the ends to make feet.
-
Cut one pipe cleaner in half and twist one half around the neck to form arms. Thread small beads onto each arm and bend the ends to make hands.
-
Wrap the scarf around the neck and then thread ribbon through the top loop. And there you have it...your own jingle bell elf!
