Create a Coloring Book
How we did it:
- construction paper
- markers - black
I love seeing the excitement in my daughter's face when she gets a creative idea. She was so enthusiastic to help guide me while we collected all of her supplies.
First, we folded the paper together like a book, using the sheet of construction paper as the cover and the white sheets for the inside pages. She (with my close supervision) stapled the book together.
Next, Emma personalized the front cover using the marker.
When it was time to make the coloring pages I asked her to use only a pencil for this. We talked about things that her brother would like to color. She drew our house, a rocket ship, and even a picture of her little brother.
When she finished her book I went back through each page and outlined her drawings with black marker to make them become coloring pages. Emma thought it was so neat to see.
When she gave her brother his gift, he was very happy to get started on some coloring. They sat together and colored all afternoon and Emma couldn't help but smile as she watched Grayson color her drawings!
