DIY Lacing Cards

DIY Lacing Cards

My 3 year old daughter loves to "sew", so we whipped up these quick lacing cards. That way, she can sew little dresses anytime she wants. She loves that they are personalized with her own artwork. They make a great busy bag item, too!

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. coloring pages, or activity pages - We used dresses but anything will work
  2. laminator - clear contact paper will also work
  3. colored pencils
  4. string
  5. hole punch
  1. Gather your materials and cut out your clip art shapes. We used a variety of dresses to play on the sewing theme.

  2. Let your little artist go to work coloring in each shape.

  3. For extra stability we choose to laminate each piece. You could also cover them with clear contact paper.

  4. Use your hole puncher to make holes going around the entire shape. Older kids can do this step themselves.

  5. Let your little seamstress go to work! My 3 year old still needs a little practice but she sure loves it :)
