DIY Paintable Pottery Figurines

How we did it:
Materials List
- plaster of paris (2 cups)
- water (1 cup)
- bowl
- spoon
- candy mold
- paint & paint brush
-
We used lollipop molds for our figurines. (If you do this, you must close the lollipop stick space with a little playdough.)
-
I mixed up the plaster of paris and water. I usually do this step on my own since we are working with plaster.
-
I poured the mixture right into the candy molds and let it set for a few hours.
-
Once they hardened, I popped each one out and let them continue to sit overnight. (They could be painted at this point, but I decided to let them get a little stronger to stand up to my two-year-old.)
-
The next morning, the kids had fun painting each sea creature we made.
-
They gave these to some very special loved ones as gifts this past Mother's Day.
