Healthy Apple Treats

I love surprising my kids with little treats. A treat in our home doesn't mean candy or toys--it can be as simple as apples with special dips and cut into special shapes. It's the simple things in life, right? This Valentine's Day, I asked my son to help make a snack. Little did he know it was going be a very special Valentine's Day snack for him. He loved helping make it and really love eating it!

- <30 mins
How we did it:
Materials List
- apples
- heart-shaped cookie cutters
- greek yogurt (1/2 cup)
- cinnamon (1/4 tsp )
- honey (1 tbs)
-
My son and I measured the yogurt, cinnamon, and honey.
-
We mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl. I let my son taste it to make sure it was yummy. He suggested adding a bit more honey.
-
I sliced an apple into large, thick pieces and had my son use a cookie cutter to make a heart shape.
-
He had to push pretty hard to get the cookie cutter through the apple, but eventually it worked and out came a heart-shaped apple. Pretty cute, huh?
-
We put the apples and dip on a special porcelain plate and sat down to a special treat.
-
I love how healthy and simple this was and that my son gave it a thumbs up. We'll definitely revisit this healthy treat later on!
