Lavender Bath Bombs

Lavender Bath Bombs

We love the relaxing scent of lavender and thought it would be the perfect accent to add to one of our favorite DIY projects... bath bombs! Create a set of handmade lavender bath bombs with a few simple ingredients and put them in water to create a fizzy reaction. These would make a lovely gift for anyone in need of a little relaxation!

What's happening?

It's a few ingredients in our bath bombs that create the fizzy reaction: baking soda, citric acid, and the bath water. When the two dry ingredients, baking soda, and citric acid, hit the bath water, they react and create carbon dioxide bubbles. The bigger your bath bomb, the longer this reaction will last.

  9. dried flowers or sprinkles (2 tablespoons) - optional
  1. (Optional) Add the dried flowers or colorful sprinkles to the bottom of your mini paper cups.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the citric acid, baking soda, and cornstarch.

  3. In a cup or small bowl, mix together the lavender oil, food coloring, water.

  4. Add the mixture to the large bowl and mix together until slightly crumbly. Add more water if the mixture doesn't clump together.

Tip: Be careful not to add too much oil as it can leave an oily residue in the bathtub when you use it.

  5. Scoop the mixture into the paper cups and allow them to dry for 24 hours. Pack it in tightly.

  6. After 24 hours, gently tear away the paper cups to take out your lavender bath bombs!

  7. Place your bath bomb in the bathtub and enjoy a fizzing, bubbling bath!
