Magnet Gift Set
Homemade gifts are so special and my children have such pride when they give them to family, friends, and teachers. I love the confidence they find in art. It's a great gift to give them! Gifts made by children don't have to always be macaroni art...there are so many fun ways to make gifts that are really functional and beautiful. This magnet set is a perfect gift and looks very snazzy on the fridge!
How we did it:
- round glass stones (with a flat bottom)
- scrapbook paper
- mod podge
- adhesive magnets
My five-year old has already started working on her holiday gifts for family. We've made these magnets before, but this time she had a special person in mind to give them to. She first rummaged through the paper scrap bin and found the perfect pretty paper scraps for her magnet set.
She used one of the stones as a guide to cut the paper into the right size. Good thinking! You could also trace the stone onto the paper.
Next, Emma covered the flat side of each stone with Mod-Podge.
She placed the paper with the print side down right onto the stone.
Once dry, we cut some adhesive magnets strips to fit onto each papered stone.
The Mod-Podge dries clear and leaves you with the beautiful image of the paper you chose. I love these special stones. They are much better than the advertisement magnets that usually end up on my fridge! I hope Emma is making these for me!
