Pony Bead Bowl

Pony Bead Bowl

We wanted to try our hand at pottery but didn't want the mess of the clay. So, we tried baking a pony bead bowl and the results were fantastic!

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. pony beads
  2. bowl - oven safe
  3. cooking spray
  1. Begin by taking an oven safe bowl and spraying it with cooking spray. This will help the bowl from sticking once it is baked.

  2. Now, have your kiddo choose the colors he or she wants to use and just drop them in.

  3. The beads will naturally come up the sides of the bowl so no need to fuss in laying them down. Have your kiddo fill the bowl until a layer of beads sits inside the oven safe bowl.

  4. Now, place the bowl in a 400 degree oven and bake for 10 minutes. Your bowl should look fused and "melted" like this when it is finished. My daughter watched this part from afar.

  5. Wait for the bowl to cool then run some cold water over the back of it and it should pop right out. If it doesn't, take a butter knife to the edge to pry it out a little. The cooking spray will allow it to slide out. My daughter ooohed and aaahed at this!

  6. Fill your pony bead bowl with treasures and enjoy!
