Sensory Construction Bucket

Sensory Construction Bucket

Our son, Jackson, wants to grow up and be a builder. So my daughter, Clare, and I made this sensory construction bin for him while he was at school. He was so happy to have his own little construction world to play in when he got home.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. a large plastic container
  2. sand
  3. rocks, sticks and small pieces of wood
  4. small toy tractors and action figures
  1. First we filled our large plastic container about 1/4 of the way full of sand. We got the sand from our local playground.

  2. Next we gathered the rocks, wood and toys that we wanted to put in our construction bin.

  3. Then we added them to the sand.

  4. Then we picked up Jackson from school and told him we had a surprise for him. He was very happy to play with his sensory construction bin. You can customize your bin with anything you want. We wanted to use material that we could find around our house. Jackson also added a few more toys of his own. You can give your child the freedom to create their own little construction world.
