How we did it:

Materials List

  1. beads
  2. medium-weight cardboard
  3. glue
  4. paint
  5. paintbrush
  6. scissors
  1. Use whatever beads you like for this project, just make sure they're a similar size, so that your coaster is evenly flat.

  2. The first thing to do was to paint the cardboard. Easy enough!

  3. When the paint was dry, Madeleine coated the coaster with glue.

  4. Then she sprinkled on seed beads....

  5. and when the coaster was covered the way she liked, she took a glass, and rubbed it over the beads, making sure they were flat, and that the cup would sit solidly on the coaster.

  6. She wanted to make a spiral design with pony beads, so she strung beads, and pasted them on as before.

  7. The last thing to do was to line the back with felt.... Maddie used her coasters as a template,

  8. and she spread glue then pasted on the felt.

  9. They're finished! And perfect for glasses of ice cold lemonade on the patio table!
