How we did it:

Materials List

  1. bubbles
  2. paint
  3. straw
  4. paper
  1. Put a half inch of bubbles into a dish. You will want a baking sheet under the dish to catch any overflow.

  2. Add 4-6 Tablespoons of washable paint to the bubble mixture. This picture shows 3 Tablespoons, but we added more to make the colors show up on the print.

  3. Mix the paint and bubbles together.

  4. Blow air through the straw to create bubbles. Remind your child to only blow through the straw and not to suck in or they will get a taste of bubbles.

  5. The higher you can make your bubbles go, the more paint will transfer to your paper.

  6. Gently set your paper on top of the dish. The paper will pop the bubbles and paint will be left on the paper. Continue to blow bubbles and set your paper on top over and over again. This creates the best patterns. You can even layer different colors of bubbles onto your print.

  7. We layered and layered the bubbles onto these pieces of paper. This is what they looked like when they were drying. I was nervous at this point that they were going to be wrinkled because they got so wet, but once they dried they were perfect.

  8. The kids were so proud that they created their own wrapping paper for their friend's present. They had so much fun doing it, it just might become a tradition at our house!
