Chocolate-Dipped Reindeer Pretzels

Chocolate-Dipped Reindeer Pretzels

My kids like to ask me about what I did when I was a kid. I love when I can share with them the things of my childhood. So when I told them about chocolate-covered pretzel reindeer, they were so excited to make some for themselves.

Ages:
3 - 9
Est. Time:
<1 hour

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. pretzels (rods and twists)
  2. chocolate (for melting)
  3. parchment paper
  4. cinnamon candies (or other candies for decorating)
  1. Gather your ingredients. If you want a healthier option, you can use a yogurt coating, and raisins or nuts for decoration. Your kids are sure to love them either way.

  2. First break up the twists to create the antlers. The kids liked snapping the pretzels apart.

  3. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook for 30 seconds at a time until melted (but not too hot). Then dip the twists into the chocolate. The kids loved this part too since they got to be a little messy.

  4. Place the coated pieces on the parchment paper to dry. Then move two next to each other to create a pair of antlers.

  5. Then we dipped the top of the pretzel rods in the chocolate and placed them on top of a set of antlers. We added cut up marshmallows for eyes and a cinnamon candy for a nose. Very Rudolph-like, isn't he?

  6. After the chocolate dries, they are ready to be enjoyed--and the kids certainly did just that!
