Cork Turkey

Cork Turkey

A recycled cork becomes an adorable little turkey in this simple craft perfect for Thanksgiving. Using contact paper and some colorful feathers, my children loved embellishing this cute and colorful turkey.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. contact paper
  2. feathers
  3. paper
  4. cork
  5. googly eyes
  6. felt
  7. tacky glue
  1. Once you have collected all your supplies, cut out the turkey's contact paper "body." Since I have younger kids, I did this step for them. I cut out a 12" circle and cut the circle in half for two bodies.

  2. Next expose the sticky side of the contact paper and let your child add feathers and scrap paper squares to dress up the turkey. (Contact paper always seems to be an exciting material to use in my house!) Once the contact paper is covered, add the cork to the center with a little tacky glue.

  3. Finish off the turkey by adding some googly eyes, a paper beak, and felt for feet. Our little turkeys are the perfect addition to our Thanksgiving table: my kids just love all the different colors and textures!
