Egg Carton Chimes

Egg Carton Chimes

With a recycled egg carton we made a nice set of chimes to welcome Spring. We are highly anticipating the blooming flowers and sunny days!

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. markers
  2. egg carton
  3. scissors
  4. yarn
  5. bells
  1. We started by pulling apart the egg forms to create individual cups. We only needed three or four, but the kids just love to pull these apart. It's an activity in itself!

  2. Emma used markers to decorate each egg cup.

  3. I helped the kids to make holes in the top of each with scissors.

  4. We cut several pieces of yarn in different lengths and threaded our bells on the ends of each one. To hold in place we tied knots around the bell.

  5. The kids threaded the yarn bells onto the egg cups pulling the bell inside the cup. My five-year old loved this part.

  6. We tied all the yarn together at the top and our chimes were ready to chime! We hung them on the door handle for now. Once we have some sun we will move these sweet chimes outside.
