How we did it:

Materials List

  1. paper
  2. scissors
  3. glitter - optional
  4. glue - optional
  5. glitter glue - optional
  1. Paper chains and stars are just a part of the holidays, aren't they? We'll just smile and get out the glitter!

  2. We started with an 8x10 piece of paper, and folded it in half.

  3. We needed to know the half-point here, too--it can be measured, or folded to find the half mark.

  4. We rotated the paper so that the fold was on the left side, then folded the top corner down to the marked point on the edge.

  5. We took the bottom left, and folded it up,

  6. then took the top edge,

  7. and folded it down,

  8. and tucked it inside our previous fold.

  9. Now we had this, and we positioned our scissors to cut at this angle, toward about half-way up. This particular paper was heavy construction paper, so Maddie needed help with the cutting.

  10. We unfolded.... and had our star! Some of the folds were backwards, so we shaped

  11. and reinforced them to lie properly.

  12. Time for the pretties!

  13. Beautiful, sparkly stars for beautiful, sparkly holidays.
