Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

With picky eaters sometimes it is hard to make sure my kids are getting all the nutrients they need, especially when they want treats more than food. So making fruit and yogurt parfaits is a fun way for them to eat healthy and think they are getting a treat at the same time.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. yogurt
  2. fruit
  3. granola (optional)
  1. Kids love having options, especially my kids, that way they feel like they are in control. So the first thing we do is create a toppings plate with fresh fruit, granola (we used chocolate granola so they feel it is even more of a treat) and any other topping you would like to add. We put it on a plate so they can see all the options.

  2. Then in a small bowl my kids add their yogurt, and top it with whatever their heart desires. If you only offer healthy options then they will only select healthy options even if they don't take everything on the plate. Like my 3 year old who doesn't like blueberries, but selected everything else.

  3. Then you can add another layer of yogurt and toppings or stop and just one. It's up to you and your serving size. Either way it is ready to be enjoyed, as a great snack, or dessert, or breakfast.
