Materials List

  1. oatmeal (3 cups)
  2. raisins (1 1/2 cups) - or dried cranberries
  3. chopped nuts (1 cup)
  4. nutmeg (1 teaspoon)
  5. cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
  6. sunflower seeds (1/2 cup)
  7. canola oil (1/2 cup)
  8. maple syrup (3/4 cup)
  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. Let your child measure and pour. There was a little bit of a mess, but that was half the fun.

  3. Stir the mixture. Make sure the dry ingredients are completely coated.

  4. Pur the mixture onto a baking sheet and press it down with your hands.

  5. Adult step: Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Once it is cool, break the granola into small pieces. Store it in a covered container. It is so delicious!
