Homemade Orange Creamsicles

Homemade Orange Creamsicles

My daughter loves the classic summer taste of orange creamsicles, so we decided to try our hand at some homemade ones. My daughter just loves to cook!

Ages:
2 - 9
Est. Time:
2+ hours

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. heavy cream (1 cup)
  2. orange juice (1 cup)
  3. orange extract (1/4 tsp.)
  4. vanilla extract (1/2 tsp.)
  5. honey (3 tbsp.) - or agave nectar
  6. bowl
  7. spoon
  8. popscicle molds
  1. Begin by pouring 1 cup of heavy cream in a bowl.

  2. Next, pour in 1 cup of orange juice.

  3. Now, measure and add in 3 tablespoons of honey or agave nectar. We used amber agave nectar because it has a subtle sweetness to it!

  4. Now, measure and add in 1/4 teaspoon orange extract. This gives the creamscicles an added orange flavor that can't be beat!

  5. Lastly, measure and add in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. It was smelling really yummy at this point!

  6. Stir everything together really well. You can use a spoon or a whisk.

  7. Carefully pour the mixture into popscicle molds. If you don't have those, you can use dixie cups and popscicle sticks! Put in the freezer for about 4-6 hours or until frozen.

  8. When frozen, try popping them out of the mold. If they don't budge, try running a little warm water over them and wriggle 'em free. Enjoy!
