How to Draw: The Pieces Make Up the Whole

When you approach a drawing activity with kids (adults too) they often have difficulty making their artwork go past the simple cartoon like image. One of the ways you can address this is to get your kiddos to really look at the pieces that make up the larger picture they are trying to draw.

Materials List

  1. reference material, or model
  2. scrap paper in odd sizes
  3. pencil and eraser
  4. permanent markers (e.g., sharpies)
  5. paint, colored pencil, pastel - or whatever you have to apply some color
  6. glue
  7. background paper for mounting
