Jeweled Ladies

Jeweled Ladies

Was there ever a little girl who didn't like playing with her mama's earrings? Surely not my little girl! Here's a pretty project for creating something fun with those lone or broken earrings!

Ages:
4 - 9
Est. Time:
<30 mins

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. earrings - broken or mismatched
  2. foam sheets
  3. glue
  4. cardboard
  1. We needed lots of cushion for this, so we put a layer of cardboard in the back of the foam. That makes for a nice thick cushion!

  2. Ours was sticky foam on one side, so we just peeled off the back, and placed the top layer over the next, with a piece of cut cardboard on the very bottom. That was ready, so she began. She cut up beads, and we took an earring or two apart to make them ready for arranging.

  3. "This will make a perfect head!" she said as she poked her first earring into the foam, and "Oooh, this one for a body!" Lots of "Oooohs, look at this one!" were heard throughout the creating.

  4. She had so much fun playing with these fancy pretty things! Some were put in whole and some were taken apart and used for this or that, and pasted into place.

  5. Her Grammie came to visit and fell in love with Maddie's pretty ladies.... I think they would be lovely with a paper doily backing and framed. Maybe for a gift for Grammie for Valentines Day!
