Jointed Zoo Animal

Jointed Zoo Animal

Running, kicking, leaping, playing animals! Madeleine made a tiger and a zebra. What's your favorite zoo or aquarium animal? An octopus with eight waving legs? A monkey, swinging high and low? An elephant waving its trunk? What will you make and bring to life?

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. paper
  2. markers
  3. brads (paper fasteners)
  4. scissors
  1. We chose nice, thick paper for the animals.

  2. Madeleine wanted to make a zebra first, so she took a piece of white cardstock, and made a pattern on the paper.

  3. Next she turned the paper over, and drew a shape for the head, the legs, and an oval for the body, and cut those out.

  4. She used the hole punch for attaching the parts, and then fastened them on with the brads.

  5. The zebra must have a mane, so he was given one—along with a tail—made of yarn,

  6. We had to make a tiger, too!

  7. What will your animal be?
