Lavender Wand

These lavender wands are a favorite summer craft in our house. They are so fun for imaginative play, but the wonderful smell of lavender makes them extra special.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. lavender sprigs
  2. rubber bands
  3. ribbon
  1. We cut about four sprigs of lavender and pulled the leaves in the reverse direction to remove all the leaves from each branch.

  2. Next, a rubber band holds them all together.

  3. We bent each branch over to create a little cage around the flowers and added another rubber band to hold it in place.

  4. Once we had our wand form it was time to start threading the ribbon through the lavender "cage." This was a fun step for my five-year old, who felt like she was sewing.

  5. We wrapped it all the way to the bottom and tied it in place.

  6. What a sweet little wand to spark endless hours of pretend play!
