How we did it:

Materials List

  1. leaves - dry leaves work the best
  2. glue
  3. thick craft paper
  1. Go on a hunt and gather leaves from the yard. I don't know about you, but we have a ton of leaves that have fallen and what a great excuse to get out there and pick them up together! The drier leaves work the best.

  2. Crunch the leaves into small pieces. Make them as small as you can. She had so much fun breaking the leaves and hearing the crunching sound. It was also a great way for her little fingers to build strength. If the leaves don't break easily, leave them sitting in the basket for a few hours or overnight and try again.

  3. Put a thick line of glue onto your craft paper. Any design will work. She wanted a leaf shape so I did the glue design, but if your child wants to make her own shape or an abstract design that's even better.

  4. Sprinkle the leaf glitter onto the paper.

  5. Gently push the leaves down onto the glue so they will adhere to the paper.

  6. Let your creation dry and gently shake off the excess leaf glitter.
