Markers + Poster Board = Morning Routine Chart

Markers + Poster Board = Morning Routine Chart

Mornings are the hardest part of the day for us...specially now that we have a kindergartener! It's intense and we needed some guidance. Together my five-year-old and I sat down and made a chart for her to follow each morning--a very clear picture chart that can help ease our morning chaos. Even my two-year-old loves checking the chart each day.

Ages:
3 - 9
Est. Time:
<30 mins

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. markers
  2. poster board paper
  1. All you need for this is a piece of poster board or thick paper and some markers. I sat with Emma and talked about what things needed to be done each morning and what order we did them in. She loved giving me her input on these things and definitely had an opinion in which order they should be in.

  2. Next, we drew our schedule on the board with clear pictures and arrows pointing to what was next.

  3. When it was done, we put it in a place where she could easily see it in the morning and use it as guidance, especially when I am getting her brother ready or making breakfast.

  4. This easy project gives my five-year-old a sense of responsibility and maturity--and gives me some sanity each morning!
