Paper Shape Dragonflies
How we did it:
- crayons (optional)
- watercolor paint (optional)
If you'd like to extend this craft, you can do what we did, and mark up plain paper with crayons, then paint over it with watercolors! Wonderful for interesting patterns and textures!
Grass! Madeleine wanted tall reeds and grass for her dragonflies, so that was the first order. Draw, cut out grass shapes, and paste them down.
Now it's the designing fun! "I love this!" Maddie piped. "These are so fun to make!" Some parts were drawn with sparkly gel pens. Some had eyes from crayons.
Some had triangular bodies....
...some were segmented....
...and some were striped. We had triangles, circles, rectangles, and ovals. Some were drawn, and some had just the tips pasted, so they rose off the paper.
Each were individuals, and every one of them are adorable!
