Pipe Cleaner Caterpillar

Are these guys cute or what?! With just a pipe cleaner and some eyes, you can make these adorable little caterpillars in minutes. My daughter treasures these little critters and named each one.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. pipe cleaners
  2. pencil
  3. googly eyes
  4. glue
  1. Pipe cleaners are a crafting favorite in our house. We're always on the lookout for new colors and styles. Well, I am glad we had so many choices on hand this day. The super fuzzy one and the striped ones made for one cute caterpillar--but any pipe cleaner you have will leave you with one cute critter!

  2. Start by wrapping a pipe cleaner (or two) around a pencil. I would start each one for my daughter and hand it off to her to finish.

  3. Once the pipe cleaner is wrapped all the way around, just slide it right off the pencil.

  4. Add some googly eyes with glue and you have yourself a fuzzy-wuzzy buggy! (If you don't have googly eyes, sequins work great, too.)

  5. We pretty much fell in love with these caterpillars. They are so sweet. We have now placed them all around our house and, yes, every single one has a name.

  6. Oh and they may have a home or two as well and a few leaves to chomp on. What can I say, we live in a dramatic household.
