Pretend Watch

Pretend Watch

My five-year-old loves nothing more than to pretend to be a grown-up! She often has stickers on her ears as earrings and loves to accessorize with my shoes and scarves. A pretend watch was a very welcome addition to her "grown-up" dress-up collection.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. duct tape
  2. paper towel tube
  3. buttons
  4. glue - tacky or hot glue
  1. We used a duct tape sheet for this, but you can also use the rolls. I had also planned on using tacky glue, but with my daughters impatience to wear her watch we decided hot glue would be best. I assisted with that step, of course.

  2. We first cut the paper roll into watch-size width and cut an opening to make it cuff style.

  3. Next, Emma covered the entire cuff with the fun purple duct tape.

  4. She picked out large buttons to be her watch and I helped add them to the top with a little hot glue.

  5. We used a little strip of duct tape to close the ends together.

  6. So fun and so cute! I can't begin to tell you all the storylines that arose from this simple craft! It was a fun day of imaginative play.
