Spaghetti Fun

Spaghetti Fun

Fun and new textures are always a big hit with little ones. When I gave my children colored spaghetti to play with they were screamed with excitement and also were not quite sure what to do. That lasted for about a second before they started scooping, squishing, cutting and turning our kitchen floor into a spaghetti ice cream shop! Such a fun new way to enjoy sensory play.

Ages:
2 - 8
Est. Time:
<1 hour

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. cooked spaghetti
  2. food coloring
  3. plastic bag
  4. kitchen tools
  1. I cooked some spaghetti and called the kids to come play. They looked a little clueless and really excited all at once!

  2. We divided our cooked noodles into two plastic bags and added a few drops of food color to each bag. Emma shook it up to color the noodles and was getting very excited to see her spaghetti turning pink and purple!

  3. We ended up with either a really colorful dinner or a new alternative to play dough.

  4. I set everything up on a shower curtain liner (we keep these on hand for projects like this one) and they played with this for over an hour. Lots of pretend play and creating took place. This was so much fun they asked to do it again the next day.
