Sprinkling Bottle

Sprinkling Bottle

Madeleine gets so excited when it's seed planting time...but it's so hard for the little ones to hold up those great big watering cans! Here's something they can create and use all on their own.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. 2-liter bottle (with lid) - or other large bottle
  2. duct tape (or electrical tape)
  3. ribbon (optional)
  4. glue (optional)
  5. permanent markers (e.g., sharpies) (optional)
  6. push pin
  1. Use whatever materials you have. We had one color of electrical tape, some pretty ribbon, and markers.

  2. The first thing Maddie did was to put a few holes in the top of the bottle with a push pin. To allow for air, she also punctured a few holes close together on the opposite side.

  3. She thought about how she wanted her design to go, and began. Tape, ribbons (with a bit of glue to seal it)...

  4. ...then more tape to help the ribbons hold.

  5. When her ribbons and tape were done, Maddie added final touches to her bottle.

  6. It's finished! And it works beautifully!
