How we did it:

Materials List

  1. feather
  2. drinking straw
  3. paint
  4. small jar
  5. scissors
  6. paper
  1. Any small jar will do...a baby food jar or a small spice jar would work very nicely to hold your 'ink'.

  2. First Madeleine took her scissors and made her quill point... she just cut the straw on an angle. Snip!

  3. Into the end goes the feather! Maddie just put it in, but if you like you could squeeze a drop of glue into the end of the straw.

  4. She wanted dark red ink, so she mixed red and a bit of black washable paint, adding a little water to thin it.

  5. All done! So simple. She was so excited to have a new way to draw! We love discovering new ways to make lovely things.
