Easy Cookie Cutter Christmas Decorations

How we did it:
Materials List
- sheets of craft foam
- cookie cutters
- scissors
- buttons - (optional)
- tape
- googly eyes - (optional)
- glitter glue - (optional)
-
We gathered our supplies first. We chose red and green foam for traditional Christmas colors, plus yellow for our stars and brown for our gingerbread people.
-
You can either press the cookie cutter onto the foam to make an imprint or trace it with a blunt object, like a chopstick.
-
The impression will make a slight white outline of your cookie cutter. Next we cut out the shapes.
-
My kids chose to decorate some of the shapes, others we left plain. Here is my 3 year old, adding button ornaments with a glue stick to a Christmas tree.
-
We added some glitter glue to a few of the ornaments, as well as googly eyes on our gingerbread people.
-
We let the glue dry for a few minutes.
-
A little tape affixed these cute decorations to the inside of the glass on our storm door.
-
They look pretty from the inside, too. I've left these supplies out so my kids can make more anytime they want. They are so easy that my 6 and 8 year olds can do the entire project themselves and my 3 year old only needs help with the cutting step. Before long these will be adorning all of our windows, too.
