Egg Carton Mini Wreath

Egg Carton Mini Wreath

We accidentally came upon this sweet wreath craft when playing a stacking game with egg cups. When we had our tallest stack, my daughter shouted "Look, I can make a ring with the egg cups!" That is when the Christmas crafting light bulb when on in my head. We got to work and our wreath came together perfectly. I love when things happen that way.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. egg carton (2)
  2. pipe cleaners (2) - rred
  3. ribbon
  4. watercolor paint - green
  5. glue
  6. sequins
  7. pencil
  8. gems
  1. First, we tore apart the egg cups from the egg carton. We used about 18 cups total. It is really easy to pull them apart and a fun step for the kids.

  2. Next, we made a hole in the top of each one using a chopstick. A pencil would probably work a little better.

  3. Emma got to threading her egg cups onto a pipe cleaner. You want them to fit into each other as you thread. We added cups until no more would fit and then connected the two ends of the pipe cleaners together.

  4. We chose to paint our holiday wreath green, but I was thinking this would be fun to decorate for all sorts of occasions. A pastel wreath for spring would be cute!

  5. Emma used gems and tacky glue to give our wreath some flair!

  6. Lastly, we added some ribbon to hang our wreath and another pipe cleaner for a little bow. Pretty neat to see an empty egg carton turn into some fun holiday decor!
