Egg Carton Spring Wreath

How we did it:
Materials List
- egg carton (1)
- watercolor paints
- paintbrush
- cardboard
- tacky glue
- ribbon (for hanging)
- scissors
-
I first cut a ring (about 12" in diameter) from a small piece of cardboard to be our base for the wreath. While I did this Emma tore apart all the egg cups. They come apart very easily.
-
Next, Emma made cuts in each egg cup to create petals. She really enjoys working with egg cartons. I think it's because the soft material allows her to easily cut and tear without any assistance from me.
-
Each flower came out different and unique.
-
We used watercolors to paint all the flowers. Emma thought next time she would like to add some glitter to make some extra special flowers. I think that's a great idea!
-
We used tacky glue to attach each flower to our cardboard ring. I like using tacky glue for projects like this to keep down the frustration with the kids. Tacky glue holds much faster and stronger than school glue.
-
I added a little ribbon that Emma picked out to hang our beautiful spring wreath. This was a really fun project to make together.
