Handprint Tree

How we did it:
Materials List
- paint - brown
- paintbrushes
- construction paper - blue, pink, red
- scissors (or heart punch)
- glue
-
I first painted my daughter's hand and arm (up to her elbow) with brown paint. She pressed her hand down on a sheet of blue construction paper to make her hand/arm print. It's always great to have baby wipes or a wet wash cloth on hand when doing hand prints for easy clean-up afterwards.
-
While we were waiting for her hand/arm print to dry, I gave my daughter some pink and red construction paper and a heart punch and she punched out some hearts.
-
After the hand print was completely dry, my daughter used a glue stick to smear glue on her paper. She then added her heart punch-outs onto her tree. (This is a great activity to strengthen a preschooler's fine motor skills).

Ta-da! A tree that really was made with love!
