Paint Chip Valentine Monsters
How we did it:
- googly eyes
- paint chip samples
- card stock (8.5"x11")
- pipe cleaners
- beads (optional)
We cut the card stock into quarter sheets (cut both horizontally and vertically). Cut out however many cards you want to make; we made six.
My daughter cut out some monster shapes from the colored paint sample cards. This step is fun because any weird or random shape can become a monster. I also enjoyed cutting out a few. We even decided it would be cute to make a monster puppy.
Then we glued the monster bodies on to the cards we cut out earlier.
Next I poked a hole on each side of the monster body with a pen.
My daughter stuck a pipe cleaner through to create some arms. If you want, you can put beads at the ends for hands.
Now is the step that we have all been waiting for! Go ahead and glue on that googly eye! After you glue on the eye, give your monster a smile with the marker.
The last step is to write a valentine message on your card. Depending on your child's writing ability, you could have them write it or you can write it for them. Now make someone's day by giving them their very own googly-eyed valentine monster.
