Pinecone Angels

Pinecone Angels

When it comes to turning nature into art, nothing makes my kids happier. They love every project that starts with gathering supplies on a nature hike. So they loved turning their pinecones into little angels to decorate for the season.

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. pinecones
  2. glue
  3. pipe cleaners
  4. feathers
  5. string
  6. glitter glue (optional)
  1. Start by gathering up your supplies. This is the best part; you can go exploring outside to gather up pinecones.

  2. First the kids glued the feathers on as the wings. Two little dabs of school glue will do just fine.

  3. Then we created little halos out of pipe cleaners by making a loop at the top.

  4. The kids glued those in place as well.

  5. If the pinecones won't stand up on their own like some of ours, we put them in a small bowl so the glue could dry while the kids decorated the front.

  6. We used glitter glue to add decoration to the angels. The kids thought it was perfect since they thought angels should be shiny and pretty. You can use whatever you have on hand to decorate with.

  7. Then we let the pinecones dry completely. We finished them off with a little string tied around the top so they could be hung as decorations.
