Valentine Fingerprint Stencil Heart

Valentine Fingerprint Stencil Heart

I love it when my kids make personalized gifts--especially when they are meaningful and capture moments in time. Fingerprints are a great way to show how precious, unique and little my kids' fingers are!

Ages:
3 - 16
Est. Time:
<30 mins

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. colorful cardstock
  2. ink pad - or finger paint
  3. scissors
  4. tape
  5. pencil
  6. paper towel
  7. craft paper - protect your surfaces
  1. Gather your materials!

  2. Cover your workspace. Fold two sheets of paper in half. One sheet will be your card and the other will be your heart stencil.

  3. Take the sheet of paper for your heart stencil and draw half of a heart shape along the fold. Cut out the heart image.

Tip: you may want to do this step for your child, as scissors can be sharp.

  4. Tape the heart stencil (paper around the heart) to the center of your card.

  5. Using the ink pad, have your child fingerprint the inside of the heart. Make sure you have a wet paper towel on hand to wipe off the ink. Tip: make sure some of the fingerprints overlap the edge of the stencil to help define the heart shape.

  6. Remove the stencil paper to reveal your child's fingerprinted heart! Wait for the ink to dry before writing a special message inside.
