How we did it:

Materials List

  1. beads
  2. large button
  3. elastic string or thin wire
  1. If you don't have an extra large button, you can make one easily out of clay or paper.

  2. I cut a 12-inch or so piece of wire and folded it in half. I showed Maddie how to not pull the bead all the way through the end,

  3. then we tucked a rubber band through the end to make a stop point.

  4. We made the arms next.... I cut another piece of wire to about eight inches, then she just wrapped it once around the wires, just below the head.

  5. Maddie chose a long glass bead for the body, and threaded it on through both ends of the wire. Next came the tutu! One wire end through each buttonhole.

  6. The legs were finished, and wrapped and tucked in, then finally the arms. "I have to find something fancy first," she said, "for big, puffy sleeves!"

  7. All finished! And ready for the stage!
