Clothespin Pom Pom Fairy

Clothespin Pom Pom Fairy

My daughter loves fairies. So we tried our hand at making one out of old-fashioned clothes pins and a pom pom!

Ages:
3 - 9
Est. Time:
<1 hour

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. clothespins
  2. permanent markers (e.g., sharpies)
  3. yarn
  4. pom pom winder
  5. paper
  6. tape
  1. Start by grabbing your pom pom winder. Tie some colored yarn in a knot on one end.

  2. Next, keep winding the yarn around the winder. The more yarn you use the bigger the pom pom will be.

  3. Adult time! Take the yarn that is hanging and loop it around the middle and tie a knot so that the yarn almost looks split in half.

  4. Now, pull off the yarn from the winder. I also helped my daughter do this part, but older kiddos could do it themselves!

  5. Next, take your scissors and snip all the loops on either side so that all the yarn is sticking out. Fluff it out too!

  6. Now, take your closepin peg and decorate her with your sharpies however you like! My daughter gave her a face and some shoes. :)

  7. Next, choose some fancy paper. My daughter chose this cool metallic pink kind. Cut some wings out of the paper.

  8. Now carefully slide your pom pom over the clothespin peg. I helped my daughter with this step but older kiddos could do it themselves!

  9. Now, carefully tape the fairy wings on the back. My daughter was getting excited!

  10. Now enjoy and let the magic begin with your new fairy friend!
