How we did it:

Materials List

  1. plastic container - Examples: empty juice container or 2 liter bottle
  2. hose
  3. duct tape
  1. Adult step: Poke holes into the bottom half of an empty plastic container. I used a hammer and a nail to poke the holes into an empty juice bottle. You could also use a drill or a tack to make the holes.

  2. Put your hose into the container and use duct tape to secure it.

  3. If your holes are just on the sides of the container, the water sprays out like a shower. If you put holes in the bottom of the container it dumps out more aggressively.

  4. We draped our hose over the basketball hoop to make our DIY sprinkler like a shower. You could also hang it from a deck or lay it flat in the grass to run through.

  5. They both had so much fun splashing, pretending, and running through the DIY sprinkler!
