How we did it:

Materials List

  1. ribbon
  2. pipe cleaners
  3. tissue paper (small bits)
  4. scissors
  1. You won't need much tissue paper. Bits of scraps will do it.

  2. Maddie cut circles out of tissue paper - she wanted two-colored flowers. If you would prefer not to cut the tissue, then skip this step! Just tear it into a circle of around five or six inches in diameter.

  3. We grabbed the middle of the tissue paper, pulled it down to gather it, and twisted the bottom, forming a flower. Easy peasy!

  4. Maddie measured around her dolls' heads with the pipe cleaners, and bent them to make just the right size.

  5. Next she just wrapped the pipe cleaners with her chosen ribbon. This part was a little tedious for Maddie, but she did all right, and loved the parts that came after!

  6. When it was all wrapped, she tied another colored ribbon onto the stopping point of the wrap, and tied it (tightly!). Then she put the flower and more ribbons on the knot, and tied around them tightly to secure the flower and ribbons to the crown.

  7. Some had ribbons and flowers on just one side, and some had them on either side. Now to just get out the cupcakes, and we're all ready for Tea!
