Egg Carton Bumblebee

Egg Carton Bumblebee

This sweet spring bumblebee is made with a recycled egg carton. My kids loved making these cute bees, flying them around the yard, and buzzing away!

Ages:
2 - 9
Est. Time:
<30 mins

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. egg carton
  2. paint - black and yellow
  3. pipe cleaner (1)
  4. googly eyes (2)
  5. glue
  1. First, we pulled apart a few egg cups from the egg carton.

  2. We twisted the pipe cleaner into the shape of wings and set it to the side.

  3. Next, I used a toothpick to poke two holes in each egg cup.

  4. The kids started painting those infamous bee stripes on. They talked about all the other bugs they could easily make this way. I think we have a new favorite craft in our house!

  5. Once dry, they added eyes and attached the wings by putting the ends of the pipe cleaner into the holes and twisting together on the inside.

  6. Now this is the kind of bee I can "bee" friends with!
