Where we live, there are a lot of rainy days. I have to get creative to keep a two- and five-year-old entertained and active during those long, dark days. Here's an activity that keeps my kids happy and moving! We used tape to create a hopscotch course in our house. The kids had fun creating the course and playing around for hours!
How we did it:
- painter's tape / blue tape
When we left sunny California for rainy Oregon, our biggest challenge was the rain. I dig deep to pull out all sorts of imaginative fun out of my mom hat. This activity is definitely a fan favorite!
My kids love setting up the course as much as they love playing... At first, we used masking tape to set up our course. But my hubby gave a great tip: painter's tape leaves no residue behind once playtime's over.
My five-year-old took the lead on creating the course, and my two-year-old followed his lead.
We collected some bean bags for markers and got to a serious game of hopscotch. They played, laughed, jumped, hopped and wore themselves out just in time for a nap.
I will let you in on another painter's tape secret we did a few months back....a cute little race car track. This was pretty fun for my daughter and I to set up together. We named each house and let little brother have some fun that day.
Hope you enjoy these rainy day game ideas!
