Ages:
9 - 16
Est. Time:
<30 mins

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. paper lantern
  2. crepe paper
  3. glue
  4. scissors
  5. string
  1. Gather your materials!

  2. Start by opening up the paper lantern.

  3. Next, we used crepe paper to create different textured tentacles. Try twisting the streamers in sections to create a wavy effect or stretching one side of the streamer to create a curl.

See how many variations you can create with just this material!

  4. Glue the streamer tentacles to the bottom of the lantern.

  5. Crinkle some white crepe paper to create an edge around the jellyfish. We thought this would be a great addition because it also hides where we glued the tentacles onto the lantern.

  6. Decorate your jellyfish! We decided to give our jellyfish some polkadots, and glued them on. You can give your jellyfish friend any pattern you would like.

  7. Once we were done, we tied a string to hang it up.

  8. Next time, we will make a few smaller jellyfish to create an underwater experience!
