Recycled Jelly Fish

Recycled Jelly Fish

Using recycled materials for art is something I try to encourage my children to do on a daily basis. When I handed over some out-dated shoulder pads to my daughter she began to create a very cool sea creature. I love her excitement to reuse something old.

Ages:

How we did it:

Materials List

  1. shoulder pad
  2. tacky glue
  3. ribbon
  4. googly eyes
  5. permanent markers (e.g., sharpies)
  1. You can easily find old shoulder pads in a thrift shop. They were a lot of fun for my kids to create with so I will be hunting for a few more.

  2. Emma used tacky glue to attach various ribbons to the back of the shoulder pad.

  3. Next she added a silly jelly fish face using googly eyes and markers.

  4. She ended up using the other shoulder pad to make an adorable butterfly with pipe cleaner and sequins. I love seeing little imaginations at work.
