Felt Christmas Tree

My kiddos love helping me decorate the house for the holidays. When it comes to trimming the tree though, glass ornaments don't always mix well with tiny, clumsy hands. So this year, we created their own special tree--made of kid-safe felt!--that they can decorate any way they want.

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

Cut a tree shape out of a large piece of green felt. We used a 3'x3' (7.6 x 7.6 cm) piece of felt.

We made stars, circles, bulbs, and gingerbread men. The sky is the limit!

  • Step 4

Using tape or a small tack, pin the tree up on the wall.

Finally, decorate the tree using all of the ornaments you created. You don't need any additional tape or tacks because felt sticks to itself...it's a Christmas miracle!!
